SENTINEL was created from lived experience. After military service, Michael experienced PTSD, housing instability, addiction, suicidal crises, inpatient mental-health care, legal trouble, isolation, and a loss of identity and purpose. He rebuilt through treatment, Veterans Court, education, cybersecurity, family, faith, and renewed purpose.

Those experiences revealed a visibility gap Michael understood firsthand: the space between formal support and the moments when a veteran may be struggling alone. SENTINEL is being built to help make meaningful change visible earlier—not to replace clinicians or trusted supporters, but to strengthen their ability to understand what may be changing between formal touchpoints.
